(Fort Worth) Tim Turner, a resident of Cleburne who is physically disabled, is undertaking a personal challenge to ride his scooter from Cleburne to the State Capital. Originally confronted by a good friend who claimed that it would be impossible for him to ride his scooter from Cleburne to Waco, Tim has taken the challenge a step further and will attempt to complete a journey to Austin. The goal of Tim's trip is to raise awareness and financial support for the North Central Texas Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its 3,500 clients. The ride is scheduled to take place over 5 days, with Tim clocking approximately 35 miles per day, at an average speed of 6 miles per hour. Tim will be making overnight stops in Hillsboro, Waco, Temple, Georgetown and finally Austin. Tim's brave adventure is being arranged and supported by Mobility on Wheels, Inc. and Bruno Independent Living Aids is donating a customized scooter to assist in the journey. After the trip to Austin concludes, Tim's customized scooter will be auctioned and the proceeds will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's North Central Texas Chapter.
